Sylt: The German Hamptons

Arriving by plane

Airlines such as Lufthansa, Eurowings, Hanseflug and Sylt Air fly to Sylt from many airports such as Düsseldorf, Munich and Zurich. A maximum of 100 minutes by plane lies between the German metropolises and the North Sea island.

It is also possible to travel via Billund/Copenhagen Airport (DK).

If you wish to be picked up from Sylt Airport, we will be happy to organise a limousine service for you.
If you wish to be picked up from Hamburg airport, we will be happy to organise a limousine service for you. This will take you from Hamburg airport to the island in 3 hours by car train. We charge 350 € for one way.

Arrival by train

The railway line over the Hindenburgdamm connects the island with the mainland. There are many direct connections by IC to Sylt from the following stations, among others: Berlin, Bochum, Bonn, Bremen, Dortmund, Dresden, Düsseldorf, Duisburg, Essen, Frankfurt/Main, Göttingen, Hamburg, Hanover, Heidelberg, Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe, Koblenz, Cologne, Mainz, Münster, Osnabrück, Stuttgart. It takes approx. 3 hours by train from Hamburg main station to Westerland station on Sylt.

If you wish to be picked up from the station, we will be happy to organise a free limousine service for you. Lanserhof Sylt is approx. 15 km from Westerland station.

Arrival by car

The island of Sylt is not connected to the mainland by road, so travelling to the island by car is only possible by car train or car ferry. The car loading station for the car train to Sylt is in Niebüll. There you have the option of choosing between two different providers. For more information on timetables and fares, please visit: www.syltshuttle.de and www.autozug-sylt.de From Niebüll station, you can comfortably reach Westerland on Sylt by car train in just 35 minutes.

Arriving by ferry

The ferry crossing is an alternative to the DB Autozug. The ferry leaves from Havneby on the Danish island of Rømø and reaches the destination port of List in the north of the island of Sylt in a good 45 minutes. The “SyltExpress” ferry runs up to seven times a day. We will be happy to organise a limousine service from there and bring you to Lanserhof Sylt.
