Growing up in the “Kochholzweg” in Lans, just a stone’s throw away from Lanserhof Lans, the new Medical Director has a connection to the resort that goes way back to her childhood. At kindergarten age, Dr. Katharina Sandtner – being a friend of the daughter of the then head chef – she and the “Kochholzweg children” were allowed to use the swimming pool of the Lanserhof and the grounds for playing. However, the connection to Lanserhof did not stop there.
Dr. Katharina Sandtner completed her medical studies at the Medical University of Innsbruck, where she received her doctorate in human medicine. Already during her studies she worked at Lanserhof, at first in the medical night service. There she accompanied guests during their cure crisis, treated them in the therapy department, but also worked at the reception, took care of small and large tasks; in short: she got to know every corner of the Lanserhof Lans.
After graduating from her studies in 2008, she finished her night duty work at Lanserhof and completed what was probably her most important apprenticeship in the practice of Dr. Andreas Pfretschner in Innsbruck. It was he who introduced her to the field of holistic medicine (including F.X. Mayr medicine) and philanthropy. Afterwards Katharina Sandtner completed her rotation at the BKH Hall and the University Hospital Innsbruck and decided to return to Lanserhof before her specialist training in 2012.
